The restaurant's colourful blue-schemed interior inspires relaxation and fun, perfectly in tune with the smiles offered by Lisa and Eunice who will welcome you to Chez Philippe.
Meanwhile, Sean, Michel and Adrian are artists in the kitchen, dreaming up a tantalising choice of dishes for the daily favourites menu to supplement the wide choice of international cuisine on their A La Carte menu. Only fresh, quality ingredients are used in preparing the simple yet delicious food, however we think their positively good nature is perhaps the best ingredient!
It is difficult to recommend a favourite dish from Chez Philippe's selection of unusual and classic starters, salads, pasta and main courses. The daily specials board means that you never have to have the same thing twice. One thing we do recommend, however, is a very special sweet: vanilla ice cream with imqaret (tradition deep-fried date-cakes), nuts, Baileys and golden syrup, which is just divine! Although the wine list is short, it offers a selective choice of exciting wines mainly from Malta and France.
Chez Philippe is in an ideal location, sitting snuggly next door to a traditional pastizzi shop in a central area of The Strand in Gzira. The area has a definite local feel and you can enjoy a walk along the sea-side promenade to look at fishing boats after your meal or have a look at the lovable Duck Village just over the bridge on Manoel Island.
Chez Philippe is definitely a restaurant to try for something cozy yet exciting and different!
