Marbella Weather

The weather in Marbella is renowned for its fantastic micro climate and in general the Costa del Sol (Coast of Sunshine) gets 320 days of sunshine a year!!

Given Marbella's close proximity to the African Coastline it's unsurprising that in the summer the temperatures soar - July and August are seriously hot with temperatures in Marbella hovering around the 30ºC, and if you head inland then can reach heats of 40º C.

Even in the winter months whilst the rest of Europe are battling off the likes of wind, rain and snow it is often a very different story in Marbella, which can enjoy an average of 22 days of sunshine each January. Marbella does see the occasional bout of rain in winter which can put a dampener on your holiday but don't let it put you off as it doesn't last for very long.

What to wear
If you are coming to Marbella between May and September then there really are only a few key items that you need to pack - bikini's/ swimming costumes/ trunks, shorts, dresses and flip flops! By July and August it's too hot to even contemplate thinking about anything else, especially jeans.
If you're visiting during the low season - between October and March then it's advisable to pack some warmer items including a light coat. During January and February even if the sun shines it can get windy and there's often a chill in the air.
Don't forget however that Marbella has some fantastic shops and boutiques, so if you forget to pack something you're sure to find all you need when you get here and not all at great expense.

What to do while you are here
Summer
There are a huge range of attractions and things to do in Marbella while you are on holiday - whether it's just to relax on one of the gorgeous beaches or take the kids and wear them out with many activities. For the party animals visiting the coast, one of the beach clubs like Buddha Beach, Nikki Beach or Ocean Club are where you want to head during the day while at night there are many bars and clubs to choose from, some of which have open air terraces like TIBU or Pangea.
After too much sun your skin can feel tight and sore but don't worry there are some fabulous salons in Marbella offering relaxing, rejuvenating treatments so you look pampered and preened (and less like a lobster!) for those party nights.

Winter
Marbella weather in winter can vary quite a lot, but it does rain on the coast even until March. Don't be put off by visiting in the winter though as there are still some great things to do when it rains including bowling, shopping centres in Marbella or Malaga and museums.
