Santa Maria Golf Club Overview

Santa Maria Golf and Country Club is a popular golf course for all standards of player. The course traces the contours of two valleys in which the vegetation, streams and lakes form natural hazards and offer quite a unique picturesque playing area with views of the Mediterranean and surrounding mountainside.

If you drive well then you will find this course extremely playable and probably better your handicap on your first visit however even if you do not hit well off the tee the course is lenient enough for you to still make pars with a few accurate recovery shots. The first couple of holes play quite close together, however when you reach the 6th hole the course stretches its legs and there is plenty of space to try to hit big off the tee.

The fairways are always in fantastic condition and most of the tees are in elevated positions giving you a bird’s eye view of your target area. The back nine in particular offers some memorable holes, with a good variety of very short par 3´s and long par 5´s.

The Country Club has some excellent non-golfing facilities and the H19 restaurant and bar above the Pro-Shop is perfect for the after game pint and bite to eat whilst enjoying watching others take nervous tee shots off the first. Santa Maria comes highly recommended and offers a good day out of golf and relaxation.

Directions: Turn off the N340 at km. 192 near the Don Carlos Hotel, head inland and follow the signs.
