Seville Information

Seville is the largest city in Southern Spain and the capital of the Andalusia region. Legend has it that it was founded by Hercules and is today one of the largest historical centres in Europe. Seville is a friendly and captivating place to visit. There is so much to see and do the place best start would be to go to one of the tourist information booths within the city centre to get up-to-date information and see what’s on but here are some of Seville’s highlights.

There are countless numbers of monuments, grand buildings, museums and galleries within the city centre. In the main square there is the impressive Cathedral and the Giralda tower (where you can climb the steps and view the city), the Alcazar Palace with its extravagant gardens. Also, the Fine Arts Museum that is the second largest gallery in Spain that has a truly mesmerising ceiling and the Maria Luisa Park that is a vast parkland based in the centre of the city, providing that tranquil rest after a long day of sights-seeing.

The large river Guadalquivir that lies on the western side of the city has frequent boat trips that run along the river and offer a fantastic way of viewing the city. There are a number of festivals that are held throughout the year such as Feria de Abril, when the Sevillians put on plays and performances and the men parade on their horses and the women dance in fabulously colourful gowns.

For food there is really only one option as the Seville saw the birth of Tapas and still do the best in the world. The Sevillians roam from bar to bar making a meal out of the mini dishes and we strongly suggest you do the same, with an unlimited choice of food on offer from fish to chorizo sausage, to vegetables.

As you can see there is no shortage of things to do in Seville. Its history, architecture and Tapas are unrivalled in the area and certainly worth making the trip over there.

If you don't want to drive to Seville from Marbella there is a bus service that leaves the Marbella bus station and goes directly to Seville with a short coffee stop on the way and takes about 3 and a half hours.
