The Orange Tree Restaurant OverviewThe Orange Tree Restaurant, run by Frank and Irene, is one of the most quaint and inviting restaurants in Old Town Marbella. Located on the East side of Orange Square, you will immediately feel welcomed and comfortable, with a smiling face always there to greet you and a light and airy atmosphere to enjoy simply delicious food, the Orange Tree is without hesitation a must visit! The Chef is regularly put through his paces as they change their menus every 6 weeks. In our opinion this keeps the menu inspired and creative but also allows their regular diners variety on each and every visit - something I personally really enjoy as I often fall into the habit of ordering the same dish every time in other restaurant! The adequate selection of starters and main courses sates the heartiest of appetites however also caters beautifully for those of us with a more delicate and lighter palette. The menus are always seasonal and the chefs use the very best fresh local ingredients from the markets. The chef makes different homemade bread every day such as the delicious sage and feta focaccia and it is served with a tray of tapenade, pickled garlic and butter. Starters on the lighter Spring and Summer menus include king prawn tempura served with Asian coleslaw and picked ginger and risotto of braised quail with parmesan, calvados, rocket and thyme oil; while main courses consist of fillet of salmon baked with a soft herb crust, stir-fried greens and baby roast potatoes and pan fried Iberian pork chops, with sage and onion mash, sour apple and walnut compote. It's not only the food that is inspired at the Orange Tree, the wine list is also very impressive and offers a fabulous selection of international wines that are not to be found in the local supermarket. |
