![]() Casamono OverviewCasamono is a trendy French brasserie that has fast become one of the most popular restaurants in Marbella since it's opening in early 2010. Locals and visitors to the Coast return time and again for its sumptuous cuisine, lively atmosphere and friendly, attentive staff. As you walk into the restaurant it's easy to see that Casamono is similar to its sister restaurant Casanis - which has been known and loved by many for years - and owner Guy has created a little haven in the middle of Marbella. His favourite animal - the monkey - adorns the wallls, glass and the menu and a tribal theme is continued with warriors also on the walls on the second floor. The menu is a mix of original French classics with a few of Guy's favourite dishes added and includes Foie Gras, oysters, moules, beef tartar and entrecote with a choice of sauces. Our meal began with an aperitif that included the foie gras, terrine and salchichon which whetted our appetite and was quickly followed by starters of crispy prawns with wasabi créme fraiche and scallops on a bed of wild mushrooms. Both were delicious and highly recommended. Our main course was equally as good - Bouillabaise, a traditional French dish and baby leg of lamb, which was tender and full of flavour. Dessert is a must and we shared the profiteroles with cream and ice cream - a chocolate lovers ideal desert. Others included crème brulée, tiramisu and tarte tatin. Adults must also sample Casamono's cocktails which include favourites such as mojitos, cosmopolitans and belinis while children can enjoy drawing on the table with crayons provided - a great way to keep them entertained during the meal.
