La Plaza Italian Restaurant Overview

Located in Riviera del Sol (exit 167km), La Plaza restaurant offers wonderful Italian style cuisine in an elegant dining atmosphere.

The service is always attentive even when the restaurant is busy and their approach is super professional but very friendly too so you really do sit back and relax.

They are famous for their flamenco nights - every Saturday in winter and also on Wednesdays in June - and special live music events including Tres Divos and the Rat Pack. La Plaza is definitely not just an average Italian; it is a great night out with a loved one or possibly even better with a large group of friends.

In summer their large terrace can seat up to 120 people and is fabulous for a touch of al fresco dining but this certainly doesn't mean that it is a summer location. The restaurant in the winter months despite being large enough for 100 guests is warm, comfortable and very inviting.

The menu has many classic Italian favourites but they also include some traditional Spanish dishes adding a little International flavour!

We were invited to sample some of the delicious menu that includes favourites such as homemade fresh pasta, risottos, fish, seafood, meat and pizzas. For starters we enjoyed bruschetta, salmon timbale stuffed with avocado and prawns, and goose liver with warm apple and honey - all of which were fresh, light and made to perfection.

Our main courses included the special of the day, rolled fillets of sole stuffed with prawns in a champagne sauce, and the fettuccine with lobster which was full of flavour and included prawns and a creamy tomato sauce.

For those with a sweet tooth, a dessert at La Plaza is definitely a must with treats on the menu such as tiramisu, crème brùlèe, crème caramel, chocolate mousse and pannacotta.
