Valentine's Day in Marbella

Food & Drink Seasonal Celebrations

Valentine's Day in Marbella is full of romance and there are many ways to make that special someone feel utterly loved in our town

Are you spending Valentine’s Day with the one you love in Marbella this year? If so, there is so much that you can do to make the day romantic and special from the simplest and well-accepted gift of flowers to a lavish overnight stay in a five-star hotel with a gourmet dinner, candles and an extravagant gift! Of course, you can also pitch somewhere in between like most of us will be doing!

Although it may not be known as an area highly associated with love – Marbella and its surrounding areas offer natural beauty, a variety of gift ideas and plenty of memory-making settings. Marbella has also seen our fair share of celebrities hitting the South of Spain over the years to celebrate their love for one another. John Lennon and Yoko Ono are probably the most famous couple to get married here on the coast in Gibraltar and then two secret agents from the infamous Bond films also began their married life on the Rock – Roger Moore honeymooned there and Sean Connery married both his first wife and his current wife in Gibraltar.

Although you may already be married or you may not even be thinking that far ahead… its still a good idea to plan something for the most romantic day in the calendar for your beloved.  We feature specific Valentine's events in our CALENDAR so be sure to check that out also.

Flowers

If you are the type to pick up some flowers on the way home from work, then why not make a little more effort this year? Order a gorgeous bouquet from one of the renowned florists including Flor Valentin, Deseos and Earthscent.

Gifts & Clothes

If you want to splash out on something your partner will really appreciate, (and we're hinting to the men here...) then anywhere along the front line in Puerto Banús will be a hit or for perhaps something a little different then we love Gunnel's Boutique in Nueva Andalucia. The staff are very helpful and will be able to assist you in choosing the right item as there are clothing, jewellery and even more homeware type of gifts available.

Restaurants and Private Chefs

For those who prefer to treat yourself and your partner at the same time then why not choose to wine and dine at one of Marbella’s top restaurants – many of whom offer sumptuous Valentine’s menus – and spend the evening gazing at each other over candlelight? Enjoy champagne cocktails overlooking the beach, sample the food of love at an Italian restaurant or head a little inland to a hidden gem of a restaurant that has wonderful views of the coast and serves delicious cuisine.  If on the other hand, you would like to enjoy a romantic night at home without having to spend any time in the kitchen then why not contract a Gourmet Private Chef to prepare a sumptuous meal for you and your loved one?  If you believe in astrology and all things Zodiac then also check out this article for tips for choosing the perfect restaurant according to your star sign!

Hotels and Spas

There is of course the option to really push the boat out and declare your love in an extravagant way – book a romantic weekend in one of Marbella’s top hotels such as The Marbella Club, The Kempinski or Puente Romano and treat yourselves to a couples massage, romantic walks on the beach at dusk, and a gorgeous hotel suite filled with petals to invoke your passionate side.  We are big fans of La Fonda in Marbella Old Town though if you are looking for a boutique feel but still with all of the 5 star touches.

If you need some more creative planning skills to prepare a truly romantic Valentine's Day then perhaps our Concierge team could also help you.  Contact them to see if they can help you to wow your loved one at Valentine's in Marbella.  Then, if all of this loving has mean't that wedding bells are suddenly on the cards then be sure to check our Wedding section for everything you will need to know from Venues, Planners, Photographers, Dress shops and much more!
