When you think of Marbella you think of the beaches, the nightlife , the parties and the great cuisine that it has to offer but there’s something else Marbella is known for that not so many people are aware of… it’s concerts!

Whether it’s in the grand stadium of the Puerto Banus bullring, one of the top hotels such as the Puente Romano, a celebrity filled Beach club like Buddha Beach, or the new concert venue on the beach in Marbella (Playa Pinillo), many musicians and stars have entertained locals and visitors to Marbella for many, many years.  

Some of the greatest performers including Elton John, Simply Red, Seal, Gloria Estefan, Rod Stewart and Julio Iglesias have showcased their talents here in Marbella.  However,  for the younger age groups Marbella has also proven to be a popular venue for very current artists; just last year X Factor winner Alexandra Burke was joined by Britain’s Got Talent stars Diversity in the Banus bullring to a sold out concert. 

2011 is no different and there’s a whole host of stars warming up their vocal chords in anticipation of performing in Marbella.  

• Tom Jones, the godfather of modern soul will be at the Puente Romano Hotel on August 18 performing some of his well-loved classics that we all (secretly) know the words to – It’s Not Unusual, Kiss andDelilah will have you out of your seats and waving your arms in the air as soon as the music starts.

• Not to be missed is the Queen Tribute Act which takes place exactly 25 years after the legendary Freddie Mercury and Queen performed their last ever European concert to 25,000 people at Marbella’s football stadium. On 5 August, Dream Ticket Promotions brings you the tribute act that will have you rocking to all of the Queen hits at the new Pinillo Beach open air concert arena in Marbella.

• Current US rap sensation Flo Rida is coming to Marbella this summer for the younger crowds at CW by Dreamer’s nightclub where he will perform songs from his latest album.

• Another concert for any Mysterious Girl in Marbella is when Peter Andre comes to town performing on 22 July with his latest album Accelerate and some of his older tunes.  

• Then, for those of you looking for a little jazz on the beach, Jamie Cullum will be at the Castillo de Souhail in Fuengirola on August 14^th.

• And finally, if a beach club venue appeals, on three balmy summer evenings in August the return of Manolo and Lito from The Gypsy Kings will start the concerts off with a bang at Buddha Beach followed by Soul II Soul and Jazzie B who will be performing on August 20^th from 2 – 9pm with a great pool party and all day buffet!

What more could we ask for – sun, sea, sangria and great music…Marbella really is the place to be this summer!
