Nedalniy Vostok Overview

Nedalniy Vostok which means ‘not (in the) Far East’ is a modern Asian fusion restaurant that combines fashionable trends from all the continents. The interiors of the chic Nedalniy Vostok were completely designed by the celebrated Japanese architectural design office ‘Superpotato’ – the same firm responsible for the design of famous London restaurants such as Zuma and Roka – this is a first for a Moscow restaurant. The one common denominator is the originality of each space using only natural materials that create a pleasing, practical and stylish restaurant.

The main room of the restaurant is just elevated enough from the open kitchen so that Nedalniy Vostok clients have a great view of every move made by the chefs. Oysters and mussels, vongole and lobsters together with the house speciality - legs of Kamchatka’s crab - are all on display in front of the open kitchen. A large aquarium is also home to a host of live crabs.

The dishes are a concoction of Pan-Asian cuisine bringing together influences from all the continent. The Kamchatka’s crab is the highlight of the menu, imported purposely from Sakhalin in the North Pacific, cooked in a wok and served with different kinds of sauces that complement the dish perfectly. A wine bar is on site and so the Nedalniy Vostok also has a great choice of wines available.

The restaurant is located just off Tverskaya street (the main Moscow thoroughfare), serves business lunches on weekdays, offers take-away services and has an in-house DJ playing in the evenings. Reservations at the Nedalniy Vostok are recommended.
