Starlite Diner Overview

Starlite Diner has brought the classical ‘American Diner’ concept to the heart of Moscow. What started as a crazy notion around fifteen years ago – five friends complaining over a pint of beer at the lack of options for a decent burger or hearty breakfast – turned out to be a hugely popular idea with Muscovites. All the original and genuine American pieces for the restaurant were imported from Florida and, as they say, the rest is history. Today, the Starlite Diner is found in five locations around Moscow.

The original Starlite Diner wa opened in the Aquarium Garden on Mayakovskaya next to the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, introducing the concept of serving a comprehensive Breakfast menu all day and night, everyday of the week. As Americans would put- 24/7! The refreshing summer veranda provides an ideal location to enjoy a garden summer breeze right in the Moscow city centre.

The Starlite Diner interiors are right out of a Hollywood movie. Long, red and white stripped sofas, tables prepared with the classic red ketchup bottle, the omnipresent juke-box, and period-era evocative photos hanging on the walls. For those of us who remember, you actually expect Fonzie from the American classic TV series ‘Happy Days’ to walk in at any time.

Apart from breakfast being served all day and night, the Starlite Diner’s menu is a potpourri of sinfully delicious meals – chicken wings, burgers and sandwiches, meat and fish grills, pasta and the works. The portions are very generous and relatively not expensive. Families are well taken care of with a kid’s menu and also a fun kid’s entertainment program with clowns, balloons and activities throughout the weekend.

The diner also has a significant after-hours following by Moscow’s party goers with a number of celebrities and wannabes regularly dining and hanging out at the Starlite in the early hours of the morning.
