Chichibio Overview

Chichibio restaurant is a relatively recent addition to Moscow's great choice of dining options. It opened its doors in the fall of 2010, close to the Patriarch's Ponds, a quiet location in the heart of Moscow. The restaurant is named after a cunning cook and a character in one of the stories of the famous "Decameron".

The people at Chichibio are local personalities: Producer Alex Bokov, restaurateur Alexander Orlov, producer and television host Alexander Tsekalo. The latter has long expressed his desire to open his own restaurant. Tsekalo made the right decision to ask for the assitance of Orlov who has many successful projects that continue to evolve and grow...and Chichibio is bound to become one of the most popular restaurants in Moscow.

The interior design is by Albina Nazimova. She managed to create an atmosphere of comfort, to convey the spirit of democracy and simultaneously create a stylish interior. All this was achieved by using soft chairs and sofas, bookcases and shelves, drawers, and various colorful garlands of large lamps, which is decorated with a bar. The walls around Chichibio are decorated with contemporary pictures and a modern sculpture by Jake and Dinos Chapman, contemporary British artists, greets clients at the entrance.

Chichibio is a genuine Italian restaurant and the menu displays a full range of classic Italian dishes: salad "Caprese"; Minestrone soup; various risottos and spaghetti and lasagna. The restaurant also has a number of original offal based dishes, such as lamb's brains fried with artichokes, terrine of veal tail, kidneys and mashed potatoes. This is a special feature of Chichibio, as only a few Italian restaurants in Moscow serve such dishes.

Chichibio is located in the Moscow center with many attractions of the Russian capital in the area: the Patriarch's Ponds, Moscow Art Theatre, the Museum of Modern Art, Satire Theatre, Concert Hall Tchaikovsky.

The Chichibio restaurant welcomes guests daily from 12.00 to 24.00 hours. On weekdays from 12.00 to 17.00 hrs a 20% discount is available.

Free WiFi and both a zone for smokers and non-smoking is available. A pianist sets the mood in the evenings and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 20.00 hrs there are also singers performing. This is followed by famous DJs setting the tunes after 23.00hrs.
