Scandinavia OverviewScandinavia restaurant has been pleasing its visitors with great food and excellent service since December 1995. The name of the restaurant is very true to its concept .... the interiors, the kitchen, the service ... is all styled around a Swedish style. Minimalism is the key word here in terms of design and the service is efficient but unobtrusive. The cuisine is European with a large influence from Swedish dishes.
In the summer, the streets are transformed into a summer terrace. The many picturesque chestnut trees create a unique atmosphere ideal for meeting friends or for a romantic date. In winter the outside ground is turned into a small ice rink ideal for children, while the terrace bar serves drinks in ice glasses. The ice spread around the bar creates an impressive special effect when illuminated at night. The pleasant snack dishes served outside differ from the inside restaurant which are more complex.
On weekends, Scandinavia offers a glass of wine and dessert for free if you order a main dish and appetizer. In addition, there is always an excuse to celebrate an international holiday such as Valentine's Day and Christmas Day or holidays that are unique to Sweden such as the Swedish Flag Day and Santa Lucia. The latter is highly recommended, on the morning of 12 December, when the restaurant serves freshly baked pastries, saffron and delicious coffee whilst waitress, dressed in traditional white attire, march in a restaurant, singing Swedish folk songs and Christmas carols.
Restaurant "Scandinavia" is literally a few steps from the Tverskaya street. This area has many famous Moscow attractions: Moscow State Theatre Lenk, and the State Academic Theatre, Moscow City Council, and much, much more.
