Central Mumbai is one of the more popular regions of the city. Encompassing some of the most prestigious areas like Chembur, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Mulund, Powai, Matunga, Dharavi, Deonar and Sion, Central Mumbai forms one of the best regions of Mumbai. Emerging as a fast growing commercial location Central Mumbai is home to many top notch IT companies and call centers. This place consists of all facilities like shopping complexes, accommodation, education institutes, cafes, restaurants, night clubs, fitness centres & entertainment spots.

Previously termed as Bombay Central, Central Mumbai is very well-connected with all three of Mumbai’s local railway lines. The road connectivity is not that good in Central Line although BEST buses in the series 1-199 that serve South Mumbai also serve this area.

Though it used to be the largest slum in Mumbai at one time, today this is a solidly middle-class district. It has a large recycling industry in Dharavi, still one of the largest slums in the world, processing recyclable waste from other parts of the city.
