Palmwag

Not only is Palmwag a relaxing escape from the dryness of the landscape, it also bustles with conservation activity. As the base camp for the Save the Rhino Trust, Palmwag offers support to its anti poaching units and trackers in an effort to safeguard the survival of the largest population of free roaming black rhino. Nestled between waving palm trees, the camp offers various amenities to visitors and features a restaurant, swimming pools, various types of accommodation ranging from camping to stylish rooms, bars, a filling station and a shop. The surrounding area is rich in wildlife such as Hartmann’s zebra, oryx, springbok, giraffe and kudu. If lucky one can also catch a glimpse of lion, hyena and cheetah. Desert adapted elephants can also be seen on a pilgrimage across ancient walkways to find fresh water sources.
