Namibia

Namibia’s wildlife and untouched, pristine landscapes lend themselves to photography. Based at the Walvis Bay Activity Centre, Photo Ventures Namibia celebrates this African country’s extraordinary beauty by offering visitors photo safari adventures. Our aim is to provide educational, photography and sightseeing tours in the Namib Desert, and also ocean excursions seeing that the ocean is right next to the desert.
We tailor-make trips to suit both the adventurer and luxury traveler’s desires, which means that accommodation can either include camping out in tents or sleeping at lodges, or a combination of these. We travel around in air-conditioned 4x4 vehicles with a maximum of four passengers, since we strongly believe in comfortable travelling.
Our activities include sand boarding down the oldest dunes in the world or eco-friendly marine kayaking for close encounters with our amazing sea creatures and bird life. A Dolphin & Seal Tour Experience will let you discover the abundance of marine life in the Walvis Bay lagoon. How about trying your hand at fishing, either from the beach or from a ski boat, or even deep sea fishing? Make sure to enquire about our exciting combo tours for double the fun, such as the Beach Braai Combo, Topnaar Combo and Sandwich Harbour Combo.
Other tours include the Sandwich Harbour Tour close to Walvis Bay. Not only does Sandwich Harbour have a rich history, but this natural bay with its red dunes has awed travellers from all over the world. It is a haven for wildlife, especially birds such as flamingos, cormorants and pelicans. We also offer the Stargazing & Welwitschia Drive, Living Desert Tours, scenic and educational Topnaar Tours and Topnaar Quad Bike Tours.
Photo Ventures Namibia proudly collaborates with the local Topnaar community for tour activities. Most of the tours take place in the Kuiseb Delta area and reaches Sandwich Harbour, which makes it ideal to involve the Topnaar community, and thereby creating job opportunities. The local Topnaars have a rich knowledge of the desert, which makes it ideal to train them as tour guides. Tourists furthermore support them by buying their crafts.
We advocate good relations amongst tour operators, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism, conservation groups, the Municipality of Walvis Bay and other stakeholders. Walvis Bay is thus promoted as an adventure and tourism destination, and Namibia is placed on the map as an eco-tourism destination.
