How to get to Amuri Estate Retreat Hanmer Springs
From Christchurch, it's a 1.75 hour drive, north along SH-1, towards Picton, then join the SH-7 just after Amberley. Once through Lochiel, carry on north onto SH-7a (Hanmer Springs), then go right onto Medway Road.
From Kaikoura, take the scenic Alpine Pacific HIghway off SH-1, taking you through Waiou and Rotherham. The road brings you out onto SH-7, where you go right (signposted Lewis Pass), and then turn off on the SH-7a for Hanmer Springs, and Medway Road is on your right after a mile.

External activities include hiking, fly fishing, river rafting, skiing, horseback riding and mountain biking. Hanmer Springs also has its own thermal pool complex.
