Pagoda Court Restaurant OverviewLarge Cantonese restaurant in central Christchurch, serving a la carte and buffet menus, with over 50 choices most evenings. Good drinks selection, enthusiastic hosts and very reasonable prices.
The Pagoda Court has a big dining room, with picture windows, round tables with lazy Susans, and high-backed leather chairs. The staff are super-smiley and will be happy to make recommendations from the extensive menu. Appetisers include spring rolls and traditional dim sums and soups, while for mains, there's a fantastic choice of pork, beef, chicken and seafood dishes, in some wondrous sauces, and all can be ordered with various rices and noodles.
The Banquet menus are great for groups as it takes the agony out of choosing, and you'll get a nice, varied selection of dishes to suit all palates, from Chicken & Corn Soup, Lemon Chicken and Sweet & Sour Pork, to King Prawn Cutlet and Lychee Ice Cream. As with most Cantonese restaurants, the portions are more than you'll be able to handle, but don't be afraid to get any leftovers packed up to take home.
