Menu is classic and traditional, using local produce where possible. Bella Cucina (it means "beautiful kitchen") has become a dining institution in Queenstown, despite only opening in 2008. It's mission is simple - to deliver delicious, traditional Italian food with no fuss - they prefer to let the flavours speak for themselves. With such a genuine, rustic feel inside, you're immediately transported to some romantic Tuscan enoteca as you sit down to decide between temptations like Butternut Squash Ravioli, Seafood Risotto with Saffron, and Lamb Fettucine. There's a good pizza selection - authentically made in a wood-fired oven, too - and it would be sinful not to leave room for Affogato, Zabaglione or their famous Italian Cheese Platter. The staff are dressed to impress, in smart brown aprons and a ready smile so, despite being in the centre of a pretty and historic New Zealand town, you'll be leaving at the end of your evening convinced you've just stepped out of "Roman Holiday", such is the charm of this place.
