Auckland Transport

Auckland’s transport network of bus, ferry and train are al run under the ‘MAXX’ brand by private operators managed by the Auckland Transport Council. The Britomart Transport Centre is the main centre to buy tickets and make enquiries in person.  It’s not far from the Viaduct Harbour area in downtown Auckland.

Trains

Veolia operates the trains. The trains run regularly to central, south and west Auckland suburbs from the Britomart rail station.

Fares are based on the number of ‘stages’ that you travel.  A one stage/stop costs under $2 with 5 stages costing about $5. ‘Ten Trip’ tickets offer a discount for regular travel to the same destination.

Various Day Passes are available for single and families giving unlimited travel on the Auckland trains after 9.00am. There are also a range of Monthly Pass options available.
