Muttrah Corniche Overview

Muttrah Corniche depicts the chronicle of Oman since 1970. Maintaing a pace with the current development, this part of the Sultanate still holds its old charms. The Corniche stretches for about three kilometers along the harbour. You can find pristine gardens and fountains along this stretch. At the northern end of the Cornish there is a fish market and the dhow harbour, where the dhows anchor to unload the catches of the day. It is a busy place with all fishing dhows returning for business. Next to the fish market is the fruits and vegetable market, where the prices are much lower compared to the supermarket, provided you know the art of bargaining.

Along the Corniche is the Souk, which is a must visit for the visitors. Muttrah souk is a traditional market, which sells ancient and traditional items.

For those with hunger pangs, just take a quick bite from the roadside food joints.
