To get around Toronto, the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is easy and economical to use. Toronto is the only city in Ontario that has a subway system—a fast and efficient way to get anywhere downtown or uptown, especially during peak rush hour times. There are also buses and streetcars you can take to get around the city. An adult fare is $3.00, while students can get a ticket at a discounted price of $2.00 and children $0.75. If you need to take more than one method of public transportation, you can get a transfer so that you don’t need to pay for more than one ride.
The TTC has an ongoing program to improve accessibility. It has implemented and renovated escalators and elevators in many of its subway spots, and most TTC buses are wheelchair accessible.
Go Transit
GO Transit is Ontario’s only interregional public transportation service for the Greater Toronto Area and the Hamilton Area, although service extends to Niagara Falls and Kitchener-Waterloo in the west; Orangeville and Barrie in the north; and Oshawa and Peterborough in the north and north east. To get into Toronto through other cities (Mississauga, Oakville, Hamilton, etc), you can use the GO transit service. If you are traveling into Toronto from an outside city, you will travel to Union Station, located in the heart of downtown Toronto right by Lake Ontario.
Mississauga Transit
The Mississauga Transit system is responsible for public transportation in Mississauga. On weekdays, most buses come every 10 minutes, while on weekends they come every 30 minutes. Regular adult fare is $3.00; children, students, and seniors pay reduced prices.
It’s possible to get from Mississauga to downtown Toronto using Mississauga Transit. There are certain Mississauga buses that can take you to a nearby subway station in Etobicoke, and from there, you can take the subway to get to downtown Toronto. If you’re looking to get to Canada’s Wonderland from Mississauga, a Mississauga bus can take you directly to Vaughan for $7.50
Mississauga Transit buses that feature the international blue wheelchair sign provide fully accessible service; many regularly scheduled routes are easily accessible by wheelchair.
Ottawa - OC Transpo
In Ottawa, you can use the OC Transpo Service to get around the city. OC Transpo features over 1,000 buses and three different trains. Over 75% of the OC Transpo fleet is wheelchair accessible. In addition, the YOW Shuttle Service provides transportation from the Ottawa airport to any Ottawa hotel or any venue in the Ottawa-Carleton region. You can reserve a shuttle service for groups of 8 or more.
Niagara Falls
The Niagara Falls public transportation system features 10 bus routes that take passengers to business areas and medical centers around the city. A regular adult fare is $2.35, while students and seniors pay a discounted price of $2.10. Children under 5 ride on the bus for free.
