Particularly proud of its cultural and architectural heritage, Paris is nevertheless open to innovative and exciting ideas. This combination of classic and avant-garde, always a success here, allows one to enjoy the present and appreciate the past.

Prime examples of this fusion can notably be seen at the controversial glass pyramid located within the courtyard of the historic Musée de Louvre while in 1970 the modern Centre Pompidou was erected beside the 16th century church of Saint-Merri. This way of thinking revives and strengthens all the cultural life of this wonderful city.
