Credit transfer into the ECTS system

Each course is awarded 3 credits at Asian University for 45 contact hours plus three hours fi nal examination. Additional workload results from projects and assignments in each course. In line with the ECTS User’s Guide by European Union, we suggest to transfer one Asian University credit into two ECTS credits.

Studio course system

At Asian University, all multimedia students have their own laptop computers. The objectives are not technologycentred. Instead, you are encouraged to see computer technology as one possible means to an end. This completely changes the way you interact and more importantly, the way you think. The computer stops being the dominant focus of the workspace and the workspace becomes mobilised in much the same way as the lowtech high fi delity pencil & paper aff ords. As soon as you start thinking literally ‘outside the box’ you soon see the shortcoming of the computer - your ambitions supersede the technical limitations of the technology, and that is when creative and critical thinking begins.

Programme fees

The fee for this programme is 20,000 baht per course. On-campus accommodation is available at a rate of 8,000 baht module (double occupance with bathroom, international youth hostel standard). For additional 5,400 baht, you can include 3 meals a day for 4 weeks.

Optional tours

Optional tours (not included in participation fee) in Thailand can be arranged at the end of the programme. With clever planning, for example, you could visit any of Asia's three wonders of the world, to neighboring Cambodia, to visit the ancient temples of Angkor, or to the Great Wall of China, or the Taj Mahal in India.

Also, when booking your flight you might consider a stopover on your return journey in Singapore (Singapore Airlines), Hong Kong (Cathay Pacific) or Kuala Lumpur (Malaysian Airlines), or even Dubai (Emirates). These can be surprisingly cheap if booked in advance.

* All prices are at current exchange rates and are subject to change. They will certainly not change anymore after your paid your enrolment fee. All prices are package prices. They won't change if you opt to study fewer courses or opt to live off-campus.
