Don't worry if your pronunciation is poor (Thai is a tonal language ) just try to say what you need as slowly and softly as possible, The British theory of say it louder in English, really doesn't work. The Thais will like you for trying to speak Thai and love you for accepting that their food is delicious.

Remember that when eating with Thai guests that they will order up to four or five dishes, and will eat a small amount of each. Thai restaurants are also different in that the food arrives not in course order but as it is cooked; please be patient.
