AQWA The Aquarium of Western Australia
Perth
The incredibly diverse and unique marine life existing within the huge stretch of Western Australia’s coastline can be experienced in one place at the Aquarium of Western Australia (AQWA).
From the icy waters of the southern ocean to the tropical wonderland of coral reefs in the Far North, AQWA takes you on an underwater journey across 40 stunning exhibits, including one of the largest living coral reef exhibits in the world.
Surround yourself with sharks, stingrays and turtles, be mesmerised by moon jellyfish, discover an octopus, smile at a crocodile, face a deadly line up of marine creatures that can sting, bite or wrap their prey with suckered arms to immobilise or even kill.
Interact with live animals at the touch pool, visit stingray bay and relax by a coastal lagoon.
Qualified divers can take to the water with sharks and stingrays on a guided dive or snorkel in the shipwreck coast aquarium, as part of AQWA’s Adventures. Anyone not familiar with diving can still take the plunge on a reef walking tour.
