Bobsleigh Track Prague

INTRODUCTION:

For those looking for a little fun and excitement while in Prague, look no further than the bob - sleigh track at Prosek, right on the edge of the city but yet easily reachable on public transport. A number of things make Bobova Draha, as it is called in Czech, a great place to visit. It is a place where you can come by yourself, or better again with your friends or colleagues. Or even you can come with your family and children. The bob-sleigh goes at the speed of your choice, although obviously for many of the daring enthusiasts who come here it is a case of 'the faster they can go, the better'. Because that is what it is about for many of them, some adventure and some adrenaline release, and what better way to do it than by hurtling at amazing speeds while strapped into a trolley?

WHAT TO LOOK OUT FOR:

It all began in 2003 when some forward thinking entrepreneurs first opened it that summer on a beautiful hilly area high above the city. And since then they have never looked back. It was, and still is, the only bob-sleigh ride in Prague. The track upon which the bob-sleigh runs is an impressive 1,000 metres long and once you really become fearless while riding it, it is possible to reach scary speeds of more than 60km per hour. And of course you can time and compare yourself against those speeds and times of your friends. That is at the top end of things of course for those who know no fear, but the bob-sleigh isn't all about risking life and limb to be faster than your pals. It can also be ridden by two people, and what is more, it is possible to use the very effective brake to take the corners and the entire ride at your own speed. Therefore you can certainly have a child along with you and just enjoy the feeling of control and pleasure.

SPECIAL FEATURES AND ATTRACTIONS:

Children aged eight and above can ride the bob-sleigh alone, but those younger must have an adult alongside them. The track has several specialities to elevate it from being a plain downhill, curving spin. It has a number of curves and bumps to keep you requiring your top concentration. Thankfully, once you get to the bottom - exhilarated and delighted with yourself no doubt - you don't have to go hauling the bob-sleigh back to the top all over again, simple take the lift instead. If you arrive in the evening time for the first time, and darkness isn't far off don't despair because thanks to the special night lights you can also have just as much fun as in day time.

Make no mistake about it that this is very popular with males everywhere, everyone from the smallest youngsters up to middle-aged men who still feel young inside. But once you arrive here you will realise that there is much more to the areal than the bob-sleigh. There is also a wonderful bar and restaurant as well as many outdoor dining areas and playing areas that can make this a super day out. It is open every day too, and if arriving here by public transport - which one can conveniently do especially by taking the metro to Prosek - one can enjoy some nice beers or drinks in the bar and during dining without having to worry about the responsibility of a car.
