Plzenska Restaurant in Municipal House

INTRODUCTION:

The location for the magnificent Plzenska restaurant is in the spectacular Art Nouveau building which is the Municipal House - or in Czech 'Obecni Dum' - on Republic Square in the city centre. The appropriately named Radek Dvorak, a great Czech name, is the Head Chef and it is his skills that ensure that a dining experience at Plzenska should be unforgettable. At anytime from noon onwards it is possible to enter this great and famous Czech dining house, marvel at the architecture and then enjoy some quintessentially wonderful Czech cuisine.

CUISINE AND SPECIALITIES:

Anyone wanting to sample Czech cuisine at its very best will be in good hands at Plzenska restaurant. A number of superb specials direct from the chef's recommendation dominate the daily fare. You could choose the excellent Beef Tartare, or perhaps the delicious and tender Crispy Bohemian Duck Roasted Golden Brown. Even more classically Czech is the challenging Spicy Grilled Marinated Spare Ribs or the Roast Pork Joint. Before all this maybe you can get started with a rich, thick Czech soup such as Potato Soup, or Hen Bouillon soup with noodles. For many people nothing is more Czech than dumplings and at Plzenska excellent bread or potato varieties await you. Wash it all down with some superb PIlsner beers and then dessert of Apple Strudel. All in all the makings of a fantastic meal.

ATMOSPHERE AND STYLE:

As one can imagine the style of Plzenska restaurant is quite stunning. Elegantly designed chairs and tables run the length of the place and gorgeous stained glass windows, tiled walls, and enormous murals depicting famous scenes from history maintain the lovely Art Nouveau atmosphere. Maintaining a feel of times past delightful piano music from the distant past echoes gently around the great dining room. The interior is large and impressive, so just choose a table you like and sit back and take it all in. You needn't even have to eat, an hour or so over a nice drink and a pastry may be just what you'd like.
