Kolkovna Palac Savarin Restaurant

INTRODUCTION:

Pilsner Urquell Original Restaurants are the magnificent new restaurants springing up all over the Czech Republic and for those in Prague the wonderful Restaurant Kolkovna in the Savarin Palace on one of the city's most attractive streets - the treelined and pedestrianized Na Prikope - one couldn't ask for more. While the unbeatably good Pilsner Urquell beer flows here in abundance one of the real pleasant surprises is just how excellent their cuisine is. All credit to the superb chef Vaclav Batek and his talented team for turning out some really outstanding dishes day after day.

CUISINE AND SPECIALITIES:

With such a unique and classical Czech feel to the restaurant it should come as no surprise that for quality and classical Czech dishes you can do no better than here. Meat dishes, sourced from local and reliable sources are one of the great specialities of the house. Their Beef Steaks and Pepper Steaks are rich and exquisite and staying with Beef the Pilzen Goulash is truly exceptional. Roast Duck dressed in the tastiest of sauces is equally superb as is the Wild boar with rosehip sauce. International dishes as well as Vegetarian dishes are prominent also and a Starter of Greek Salad or Caesar Salad may be just your thing. Even better can be the Vegetable Lasagna dressed with grilled vegetables interleaved with mozzarella , served with tomato sauce. Quite outstanding. To go with such wonderful fare nothing suits more than the unbeatable Pilsner Beer.

ATMOSPHERE AND STYLE:

The interior of the restaurant is dominated by and taken up by the mighty impressive tapping bar. This is an enormous copper cap of an old brewing apparatus and surrounding it is the perfect brass piping synonymous with beer restaurants of old. All of it is quite resplendent condition shining and glowing in all its glory. Adding delightfully to the atmosphere are some superb old mementoes and photos of a bygone era all related to the famous days of Pilsner Urquell. As for seating and comfort the emphasis is on a robust and open plan layout where you can perfectly eat, drink and chat across the sturdy tables.

Na Prikope 10, Praha 1 - there it is just a few metres from the Mustek and Namesti Republiky metros the place to go to enjoy this excellent place. Reserving is appreciated but generally not necessary. They are open daily from 11am till midnight.
