![]() Vysehrad Castle OverviewVysehrad Castle and grounds are one of the high points of any visit to Prague, a place of magical atmosphere and tradition with exceptional views over the city. The current lay out of the grounds dates back primarily to the middle part of the 19th century. The lawns and walkways are particularly beautiful with statuary in abundance and many cobblestoned wandering paths to wander down. Standing out of course is the breathtaking neo-Gothic Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral while nearby is the tranquil and extravagant graveyard containing many of the great personalities linked to the Czech lands through the centuries. Surrounding much of the sprawling area that makes up Vysehrad are the tremendous original walls dating from the 10th century.
