Wellness in Prague

Where to go to relax, unwind and chill out in the Czech capital

To enjoy the beauty, wonders and attractions of any city requires a lot of walking and standing. Prague is no different, but where this city does excel is in its range and variety of magnificent wellness centres and accommodation options. Either before or after you explore the sights and sounds of the city there’s nothing better than having the comforts of some superb wellness facilities right on your doorstep. Many of these are found in the city centre, in particular the luxurious four and five star hotels in some of the most famous parts of the city like the Old Town, or in the charming Little Quarter. And if you like the feeling of being sequestered away in a very private and intimate residence away from the bright lights - Prague can offer some first rate options just on the edge the city.

Park Holiday Congress and Wellness Hotel is a charming property neatly tucked away - but easy to reach - on the edge of Prague offering superb facilities for anyone who appreciates comfortable and luxurious accommodation in an idyllic setting. Additionally, this hotel boasts the use of their very own impressive Wellness and Sports Centre, not to mention truly excellent cuisine in the Tetu Brissy Aeronautical restaurant. At their health and leisure centre guests are welcome to keep fit, enjoy sports, treat themselves to relaxation and massage procedures, and truly relax. Another possibility that stands out is Lily Wellness & Spa center set among the green orchards and gardens at Mala Strana in the gorgeous Hotel Hoffmeister. The splendour of this remarkable hotel has to be experienced to be believed and among the procedures and treatments awaiting you are steam baths, cosmetic treatments, and their great speciality - the massage treatments, including Hawaiian Lava Stone Massage, Swedish Massage, Aromatherapy, Chinese Pressure Massage, Chocolate Massage, Honey Detoxifying Massage and Shiatsu.

Few locations in Prague are as romantic as being right near the unforgettable Prague Castle and a stay at the gorgeous Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa promises personal service and glorious amenities. Pride of place goes not only to their exquisitely designed and exceptionally luxurious rooms but also their health club, an indoor swimming pool, a sauna, a steam room, and the fitness center.

The Roman Spa and Wellness facilities in the superb Boscolo Carlo IV Hotel impress everyone who stays there. It has not only the highest standards of accommodation and cuisine to tempt you but at the end of a busy day sightseeing the rewards of their beautiful baths will soothe and ease your pains. Gently find your place on the blue mosaic floor of their delightfully designed water room, immerse yourself in the steam, enjoy the bubbles of a Jacuzzi or abandon yourself to the pleasures of a rejuvenating massage. The Boscolo Carlo IV Hotel is in the New Town of Prague with transportation amenities as well as having walks to so many of the famous sights within easy reach.

Finally to really be at the heart of the action you could locate yourself on the resplendent Republic Square and check into one of the most elegant hotels in the city, the Hotel Kings Court. This historic neo-Renaissance-style building has some of the most sought after health and wellness procedures in Europe offering a variety of treatments performed by authentic Thai and Balinese therapists in one of their four treatment rooms. Furthermore, Zen Asian Wellness includes a special pool with a reverse stream, Jacuzzi, a spacious chill out area, Finnish sauna and Turkish steam room.

Of course you don’t have to check into a hotel to experience the joys of a wellness centre in Prague. You can arrange an appointment, or even drop by one of the many found on the high streets at any time you want. Among the very recommendable possibilities are Tawan Thai Massage Center where the ancient arts and traditions of Thailand will heal you. They are to be found in the beautiful Vysehrad Residence on Lumirova St. and at other locations throughout the city. Expect delightful Thai massages, hot herbal packs, and cleansing reflexology to make you feel on top of the world again.

Another option is the Ayurmedic Ceylon Centrum which is located in the leafy and very elegant Vinohrady. Here, specially trained masseurs can advise you on all aspects of your health care and body needs and most of all carry out some superb massages. Dietary advice and massages using natural, herbal oils are the main feature of so many of their wonderful procedures. Without even having to leave Prague's most famous shopping avenue Wenceslas Square you could take yourself along to the very modern and magnificently equipped World Class Wenceslas Square or World Class Health Academy, where not only do the leading physical exercise procedures of the world await you but also some amazing wellness facilities including their solarium, sauna, and massage centre.

Staying right in the centre of Prague but this time right close to Old Town Square on Kaprova St is Nam Jai Traditional Massage which can also really treat you to a wonderful healing and invigorating massage. Their speciality lies in Indian massage - excellent for eliminating the toxins from our joints and organs and consequently allowing our skin to breathe more freely and look renewed and glowing.

Finally, we recommend the Harmony Spa where the delightful Bubble Aroma Bath containing natural essential oils and herbal extracts is a special feature. This procedure wonderfully moisturise the skin, leaving it with a feeling of smoothness, softness and added flexibility. These of course are just a sample of all that awaits you to make your stay in Prague as relaxing and as luxurious as possible for your body… and soul.
