Prague Castle and Charles Bridge webcam
Prague Castle webcam. The Image will refresh automatically every 10 seconds.
This webcam, which is placed mid way between the magnificent National Theatre and the Old Town Bridge Tower, captures in the foreground the famous Charles Bridge and its thirty Gothic and Baroque statues. As you follow along the bridge from the bottom right hand corner of the screen it leads you away from Old Town Prague and across the Vltava river to the Little Quarter. The Little Quarter - or 'Mala Strana' - of Prague begins as you pass under the Lesser Town Bridge Tower dating from 1380 which is visible just as the 680 metre long Charles Bridge ends. The Charles Bridge accepts no traffic and all day every day bustles with people strolling and photographing while stopping at souvenir selling stalls or listening to live musicians along the way. The spires - almost in the middle of the webcam's image - above the Charles Bridge belong to the majestic St Nicholas Cathedral and all around the cathedral are the red bricked roofs of the beautiful burgher houses and aristocratic palaces for which the Little Quarter is so famous. Dominating everything from its great height is the enormous Prague Castle complex standing out as the highest continuous building in the frame and containing within its dominion the colossal black structure which is the one thousand year old St. Vitus Cathedral.
