Marine Parade

Queenstown

Gardens and Parks Points Of Interest

Grab some fish and chips from Aggy's Shack, find a seat and enjoy the views over lunch.

Marine Parade includes well maintained lawns overlooking Queenstown Beach and Lake Wakatipu. The Queenstown Fallen Soldiers Memorial marks the entrance to Marine Parade and was opened in 1922 on Anzac Day to remind both locals and tourists of the sacrifices made by the Queenstown Community during World War One.

A pathway runs through Marine Parade and into Queenstown Gardens. Alternatively, you can follow the path that hugs the banks of Lake Wakatipu and find one of the many benches to savour the views.

The Bathhouse is a favourite spot to enjoy a coffee and spot of lunch right on the beach. A small playground area is located right next door.

Situated close to the entrance of Marine Parade is the waterfront area of Queenstown where jetboat, water taxi, scenic cruise and para-sailing companies all operate from,. So, it's a great spot to relax and just watch the activities unfold on lake Wakatipu.

Marine parade is the main congregation spot during summer months as visitors flock to the beach area and enjoy long, hot days sunbathing, picnicking and catching up with fellow travellers. It's also the location for thousands of visitors to enjoy the opening night fireworks of the Queenstown Winter Festival and the New Year's Eve celebrations.
