Due to the reddish hue of its architecture, Jaipur is often referred to as the 'Pink City'. It is the first 'planned' city of India and this is reflected in the grid network and wide streets, which make it easily navigable for the first time visitor. Located in the desert land of Rajasthan - about 260 kilometres from Delhi - Jaipur serves as the capital of the state, and enjoys all the requisites of a metropolitan city.
With its rich cultural heritage, world-famous fort, sprawling palace and vibrant bazaars, the Pink City is by far the most visited place in Rajasthan.
