Trains

Trains within Rajasthan :

Rajasthan is very well connected by train track. It is also a very inexpensive way to travel.

Almost all tourist destinations are covered by the Railway system. Jaipur , Jodhpur, Udaipur, Bikaner, Bundi, Jaisalmer and Chittaurgarh, all have very well developed Railway stations and are very well connected to each other as well as major cities like New Delhi and Mumbai.

Mount Abu, Pushkar and Ranthambore do not have direct trains.

But Mount Abu can be reached by train by Abu Road, a station situated 20 Kms from Mount Abu. Then, one can get a Taxi or bus taking you to the mountains where Mount Abu is perched.

Pushkar can be reached via Ajmer, approx. 35 Kms. From Pushkar, and then by Taxi, Bus or even an Auto Rikshaw (tuk tuk).

Ranthambore can be reached by train via Sawai Madhopur, 5 Kms away and usually the hotels provide a pick up and drop, if not then an Auto Rikshaw is the best way to reach the destination.

Usual facilities available at Railway Platforms are: Waiting Rooms, Baggage Rooms, Refreshment Stalls, Enquiry counter, book stalls, Water and packed food and electronic information boards etc.
