Caixa Cultural Recife
Recife
The Caixa Cultural in Recife opened in May 2012 and has quickly become a well regarded centre for arts and culture in the Pernambucan capital.
The cultural centre is housed in the beautifully restored Arnaldo Dubeux building on the edge of Marco Zero square in Old Recife (Antigo), which used to house the old Pernambuco and Paraiba Stock Exchange. However, the building itself dates back way back to the 19th century and also housed several banks, including the Bank of London.
Every evening, it stands out beautifully from across the Marco Zero Square as it is lit up by a multicoloured LED lighting system.
It's extremely dynamic repertoire of exhibitions and shows are well attended and tickets, for those events with limited capacity, are snapped up by the eager public. It holds events, workshops and lectures for adults and children in its auditorium.
Whilst My Guide Recife updates our Events section regularly, you can follow their news and more details of the full programme on Caixa Cultural Recife's Facebook page (in Portuguese).
