Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel Overview

Housed in the old headquarters of Icelandic shipping giant Eimskip (opened in 1919 of course), the Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel, opened in 2005, still evokes an old era of wheeling and dealing in a little North Atlantic outpost. The rooms are all decorated in contemporary style, with the latest mod cons, although great attention was paid to maintain the common areas in the grand style of their original era. It’s centrally located downtown near the harbour.

Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel Rooms:

The hotel’s 88 rooms range from single to suites and are decorated in contemporary style , including flat screen televisions, mini-bar, slippers, and a “one-touch” service line to a concierge. Of the 88 rooms, there are 30 standard, 29 deluxe, ten business class, 16 junior suites and two suites. The suites all have espresso machines and some complimentary drinks in the mini-bar.

The classy 1919 restaurant serves modern cuisine with an emphasis on seafood and the attached bar is a comfortable and modern place to enjoy a cocktail.

Radisson Blu 1919 Hotel Facilities:

This hotel is one of only a few to have a small in-house gym. There is also a business centre, hairdressing and beauty salon in the hotel and wireless internet throughout.
