The Lobster Ship is a ship-based restaurant, docked in the Reykjavik harbor. The ship has been moderately modified to accommodate the 100+ people restaurant but has not lost any of its old charm. The located is also perfect for those that plan to go whale watching in Reykjavik as restaurant is just meters from where the whale watching boats depart.

The menu on board is extensive with emphasis on seafood but also offering some classic meat dishes for the few that would prefer that. In the starter section you have items such as lobster soup, smoked salmon, grilled lobster and scallops.

When it comes to the main course its very likely that you will have a hard time just picking one from all the mouthwatering items on offer. You have all the Icelandic fish classics like cod, salmon and halibut but also combo items like “Fish fantasy” where you get a selection of Icelandic fish all on one plate.

You will not find any fish items on the desert menu but you are likely to be tempted by the homemade ice cream and the warm apple pie, served with whipped cream and sauce.

The Lobster Ship is a wonderful and charismatic restaurant, ideal for a romantic dining in Reykjavik. With the soothing sounds of the sea, the picturesque view from the deck and the great food – you are bound to stay a while.
