Fish Market Overview

Experience Asian interior combined with Icelandic elegant design, warm and welcoming surrounding. The Fish Market is located down town Reykjavik and is opened both for lunch and dinner.

The Fish Market opened in 2007 and acquired a very good reputation from the start. The restaurant has got some great reviews with good reasons. The restaurant offers tasty and delicious Asian – influenced cuisine that you won’t be disappointed with.

The Fish Market cooks their dishes in two different areas of the restaurant besides from the main kitchen. The Robata grill is one of the main symbols of the restaurant, there the fish or meat is grilled so it is quickly fried and as a result the food will be juicy and tasty. The Fish Market also has a Raw bar, a sushi bar with open kitchen where guests can watch the chef at work. You don’t need a reservation for the Raw bar, you can stop by at any time.

At the Fish Market there is a very nice bar where you can enjoy a wide selection of cocktails, champagne, sake and wines. The Fish Market is ideal both for small and large groups for dining or just to get together for a drink.

The Fish Market is opened until 14:00 for lunch and until 23:30 for dinner all week.

Wonderful experience in Reykjavik

We came to the beautiful city of Reykjavik in July 2009 and we went to dinner four times while staying there. We went to place called Orange, fishcellar and perlan. The very best of all was the Fish Market. The sourrounding is fantastic it is modern but still has a cosy feel to it and it was very busy but without being loud. The food was absoulutly delicious but we all had the tasting menu and every one of the courses was good. We even came back two days later for lunch and had wonderful sushi for only 10 danish kronas. The service was good and the price as well. I would recommend this restaurant to every one who travels to Iceland. It was one of the best restaurants I have ever gone to.

Best resturant ever

3 Norwegian boys stayed in Reykjavik in november 2008 during the finacial crisis. The food in Iceland was outstanding, and the best of them all was The Fish Marked. The cosy atmosphere and the helpfull staff made us feel like home. We ordered a 9 dich taster. first 4 startes and than som delicious sushi ( The best I ever tasted ) than we started on 3 main courses. And it was alot of food! As a desert we got a plate whit 4 differet desserts. I will recomend this place to all visitors of Reykjavik. Im not sure if this place have any micheling stars, but it should have had atleast 2 stars. The prices was not that bad. we payed around 20K iclandic kroner, that is about 200 dollars. for 3 persons and 3 bottles of chablie grand cru
