The Barra Grill is another fine version of the Brazilian Churrascaria with locally raised Brazilian beef supplemented with quality cuts from Argentina, Australia and Uruguay. The Barra Grill has earned distinction not only for its variety of choice grilled meats but it also raises eyebrows with its grilled lobster and a buffet with abundant offerings of sushi and pasta.
The quality of the buffet is evident by some patrons choosing to think of the cuisine as part Churrascaria and part Japanese. To accompany the more than 30 cuts of meat served rodizio style, the restaurant also provides a buffet rich with seafood, fish and traditional Brazilian dishes, such as rice and beans and fried polenta. The Barra Grill is also widely known for its rack of lamb which is considered a “house specialty”.
If you are not familiar with a rodizio, be prepared for a feast. Passadores (the waiters who serve the meat) travel around the restaurant, each carrying a specific cut of grilled meat. Armed with a knife and a skewer, the passadore offers you a slice of the meat (rare, medium or well done) – you can pass on any selection or enjoy as much as you like.
Along with the Japanese style sushi and sashimi, one will also find dishes made from recipes with Arabic origins. The meals are complimented by over 300 labels of wine and the staff is more than happy to recommend a wine that perfectly suits your meal.
The restaurant is also known for its popular promotions. On weekends, women are generally allowed to enjoy the “all you can eat” rodizio at half price and it is not unusual to see popular wines offered at 50% off on Sunday. Although always crowded on weekends, the restaurant is also popular during the week because regulars know that the full service rodizio is discounted a bit.
