Middle Eastern cuisine, or described elsewhere as, Persian-Mediterranean cuisine is a food style rich in history and flavor. Although Rio is not packed with these restaurants, the few that are here are excellent.

Arab influences dominate in Rio with the choices as diverse as Lebanese favorites, special Middle Eastern pizza and bountiful 'per kilo' buffets. The Arab dishes feature lamb, tabbouleh salads and baba ghanoush with traditional servings of hummus, olives, pitas, honey, sesame seeds, dates and chickpeas.
