Rio de Janeiro Christ the Redeemer

There are many ways to view the iconic Christ the Redeemer Statue. Pick a hotel in Botofogo or Flamengo and you are likely to be greeted by Christ each morning as you rise and look at your window.

Or take a helicopter tour for a dramatic and up close view of the entire monument. But our favorite way to visit the statute is to take the cog railroad up the Tijuca forest, take the elevator to the base and lie down at the foot of the statue. Lying down, you can marvel at the statue’s immense size and the serenity of Christ’s gaze upon you.
