Azuga

Azuga is known as “skiers’ paradise”, being ideal especially for experienced ones. Cazacu and Sorica are the most popular slopes found in Azuga winter sports complex. Cazacu slope (3050m long; 758m difference in level) has a medium degree of difficulty and is equipped with a cable car and snow maintenance machines. Sorica slope (2100m long), the first slope in Romania homologated by the International Ski Federation, has a medium level of difficulty. It is equipped with a cable car, artificial snow installation and night lighting installation. If you decide to bring your children here, Azuga also offers mini ski lifts and babylifts.

In the summer, the resort is very different: it’s green, quiet and not as crowded as in the winter. If you are passionate about hiking, you can follow numerous mountain trails in Bucegi Mountains. Hire an ATV to discover the surrounding woods or have a picnic in the nearby clearings.

Take a day off from hiking or skiing and visit the neighbouring ski resorts Predeal and Bușteni. Go to Sinaia, less than 10min away by car or bus, and let yourself be taken aback by the elegant Peleș Castle. Head for Brașov to learn about the region’s development at the Urban Civilisation Museum and the First Romanian School Museum. Here you can also visit the Black Church and the medieval bastions, Blacksmiths' Bastion and Weavers' Bastion. Other important attractions situated closer than 35km away from Azuga are Bran Castle and Râşnov Citadel.
