Our local experts take every effort to accurately capture this information through photography, videos, virtual tours and writings. Our Local Experts in Singapore

Singapore is a city where the best of the West meets the best of the East. Glittering skyscrapers and gleaming shopping malls line streets that are so impeccable you could eat your dinner off them. This won’t be necessary, however, as there are more cheap and delicious Asian eateries than you could shake a chopstick at. The city has its share of iconic attractions, such as the Esplanade Concert Hall and Chinatown Heritage Centre, but the real draw is that the whole place runs like a well-oiled machine. Everything works, everything is clean, everything looks good.

Steering Singapore into the My Destination network are Myriam Ohlig and Monika Khaled.

Myriam comes from the French Caribbean island of Guadeloupe, which is so beautiful she didn’t actually feel the need to travel until she met her German globetrotter husband, who took her all over the world. And when they had children, did that stop them? On the contrary, they wanted to show their kids how beautiful the world is with its contrasting colours and cultures. Myriam’s interest in sales started while studying Events Management in Singapore, and she realised how powerful a tool Sponsorship sales could be. Hence, she gained some experience in this field through diverse Community and Art events.

Monika is a proud Austrian who has always loved travelling. She has lived and worked as an Austrian Tour Operator in countries such as Spain, Greece and Tunisia, where she met her husband with whom she then moved to Paris. Following that, she moved back to Austria, where she got a Degree in International Marketing, after which she opened and ran a successful tourism marketing and consulting firm for several years. As much as she loves Austria, when her husband’s job offered relocating to Singapore, she leapt at the opportunity for a new adventure, and has been living there for the past 6 years. When Monika heard about My Destination, she realised immediately that it was the right business for her. She says: “Singapore is fantastic and has so much to offer, and I am looking forward to launching and getting to know it even better in the process.”
