Night Safari
Singapore
Opened in 1994, Night Safari is the world's first nocturnal zoo and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Singapore. The park is located next to Singapore Zoo and covers 35 hectares beside Upper Seletar Reservoir, offering a vast shelter for over 2,500 animals from 137 species, of which 30 percent are threatened. Night Safari includes cultural performances such as tribal dances, blowpipe demonstrations and even the 'Creatures of the Night Show', which is always very popular. Take a tram ride with 'live' commentary to explore the seven geographical zones of the park, where you'll encounter the nocturnal animals in their natural habitat. Or wander at your own pace to fully embrace the surroundings of the rainforest at night.
A good plan would be to spend your day or afternoon at Singapore Zoo then have dinner from 6pm at Night Safari, watch the Thumbuakar performance at 7pm then the 'Creatures of the night show' at 7.30pm. Afterwards, you can either take a tram or walk. Combining both attractions is technically possible but very tiring especially for young children. In case you feel a late night crave, eateries stay open until late and you can even enjoy sipping a drink on the move with the Gourmet Safari Express programme (must be booked in advance). Night Safari also offers 3 spaces to hold your events.
