Slovenia Maritime Information
The Piran Bay already attracts many sailing enthusiasts. On the coast there is a possibility to rent a motor or sailing boat. To do that you’ll either need an appropriate certificate of competency or rent a boat with an experienced skipper on board. Several sailing schools and excursions by boat are available at the coast. On Slovenian beautiful lakes in the other part of the country you’ll find clubs that organize training courses for skippers, navigation and sailing courses. Many Slovenians obtained their initial experience exactly on those lakes.
The Slovenian coastline offers you the nearest contemporary ports for yachts to the Central Europe and is an ideal starting point for cruises on the Adriatic Sea where you can explore more than 1000 amazingly beautiful islands. Three modern and well wind-protected marinas are available for nautical tourists coming to the Slovenian coast. They are located in Portorož, Koper and Izola. All three are winners of the European Blue Flag ecological character, which means they are environment friendly. You will also find the Yachting Center in Izola under the auspices of Izola Shipyard for technical service. All three marinas provide petrol supply and in addition to that petrol stations are available on public piers in Piran and Izola.

Marina Portorož
Marina Portorož is the first and the largest marina in Slovenia. It has more than 1000 berths: in the sea, on land and in indoor halls. All of them are equipped with connections for water and electricity. The facilities also offer spacious parking, comfortable bathrooms, grocery stores, nautical and sport equipment stores, two restaurants, a beauty salon, tennis courts and golf courses. Vessels up to 30 m in length and with the draught of up to 3,5 m can enter the marine which offers repair and maintenance services.

Marina Izola
The Marina Izola has more than 700 berths that can accommodate boats up to 30 metres in length (depth: 4m). All berths are equipped with water and electricity. Marina Izola offers all necessary infrastructure: uncovered and covered car parks, boat charter and sales agency, nautical equipment store, sport facilities, shopping centre, restaurant, gambling house... and a wide range of nautical services. Marina guests also enjoy access to wireless internet service.

Marina Koper
Marina Koper, lying in the picturesque city center, offers 70 berths in the sea for vessels up to 15 m in length (3,5 m draught). They have 30 more places available on the land. Each pier is equipped with water and electricity. Repair and maintenance service are available in marina as well. Marina is equipped with the petrol station, containers for the disposal of waste oils and parking for 50 cars.
