In the suburb of Homebush Bay, The Sydney Olympic Park was built for the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games. Originally, the land was inhabited by Indigenous Australians and upon white settlement, was turned into an industrial wasteland. After the Olympics were held, the Park was transformed into a multipurpose function centre for Sydney and has since been used for sport, entertainment, events and leisure purposes.
