Take the Old Moshi Road from Impala Hotel Round- about, keep going straight until you pass Masai Camp (there is a big Coca-Cola Sign board on the left), take the first turn to the left (opposite KITEC College), after 100 meters on the dirt road, take the first turn again to the left, going straight up the hill following the signs along the road.

 Karama Lodge and Spa OverviewNestling in the forest of Suye Hill, Karama is right on the outskirt of Arusha Town. It has a great bush feeling while is only 4 kms from Arusha town center. Formerly a butterfly farm, these days you still can see butterflies flit amongst the lushly landscaped gardens and surrounding forest while views of Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru are ubiquitous. Karama is one of the few eco – cautious lodges in Arusha. We put lots of effort to protect the forest behind the lodge from people cutting the trees for fire wood. Water is always a precious resource in Tanzania, we collect rain water and filter the water from shower and washing basin to water our garden. The accommodation is in twenty-two unique stilted cabins constructed of local materials in accordance with our sensitivity to our fragile environment.
Monkeys are often to be seen jumping from tree to tree or running around the garden, genuine fowls and squirrels are our visitors all the time. Karama Lodge and Spa Rooms: Karama has twenty two en-suite log cabins built on stilts. All convertible from double to twin. Hot water is available 24 hours. There is a private balcony attached to each cabin, open to the garden and the views of Mt Kilimanjaro and Mt Meru. The cabins are uniquely decorated, all of the furniture are designed and made by ourselves providing a warm, funky, romantic feeling. Karama Lodge and Spa Restaurants & Bars: Our food is known by visitors and residents from town for being “delicious, fresh and plenty”. Many vegetables are from our own garden which are free from chemicals. We take great care of special diet as well.
The bar lounge has a great view of the lush garden and Mt Kilimanjaro & Mt Meru. It’s a great spot for sundowners, enjoying a cold drink or freshly brewed coffee with cookies while the music is playing gently. Karama Lodge and Spa Facilities: Karama organizes various activities including half day/full day culture tour, guided walk to the top of Suye Hill behind the lodge and bicycle tour around Lake Duluti which is 4 kms away from the lodge.
Yoga classes are offered 2 times a week at our yoga room. Different types of massage, manicure and pedicure are also offered.
Internet service and Wi-Fi is available on the premises.
A small curio shop with collections hand made by local women and from other African countries.

August 2010 A very unique set up in Arusha! One of the kind...

6 of us stayed in Karama lodge for 3 nights in total. what a unique place! The cabins are tastefully decorated, very cozy and comfortable. The ambiance at the bar lounge and restaurant is superb, the staff are all very kind and attentive. And the food is also yummy. We would definitely recommend this place to our family and friends.
