![]() Shanga Shangaa OverviewShanga Shangaa offers a wonderful way to see a positive and successful approach to helping people and at the same time you can enjoy a coffe tour, farm coffee or delicious lunch, do some unique and well priced gift shopping at the Shanga Shop or simply enjoy some time on one of Tanzania’s oldest and most beautiful coffee estates.
At the workshops Shanga recycles aluminum, glass bottles and paper into hundreds of amazing products, combining ancient African and Venetian techniques with simple, homemade technology. They are the first to blow glass in Tanzania, do aluminum sand casting and make lampwork beads. All done by 42 disabled Tanzanian people who never had a chance to work before.
They also have a Tanzanite Experience branch at the Shanga Shop, where you can buy responsible Tanzanite straight from the source. All Tanzanite income goes towards supporting the project.
The workshops and shop are open 7 days a week from 10am until 5pm. During these hours there is always someone around to show and explain how the products are made - it is a truly magical place to spend some time! You do not need to book workshops tours.
