Therefore, each destination is run by a team on the ground who have their fingers on the pulse and write from a first-hand experience, whether they are trying out places to eat, visiting sites of interest, undertaking activities, exploring hidden 'secrets', and speaking to the locals who are 'in-the-know'. Our local experts take every effort to accurately capture this information through photography, videos, virtual tours and writings. Our Local Experts in Tenerife

Joe Cawley is an award-winning travel writer and author, based in Tenerife. His work has been published in The Times, Sunday Times, Guardian, Express, New York Post, Conde Nast Travel and many others. His book, More Ketchup than Salsa, was voted Best Travel Narrative 2007 by the British Guild of Travel Writers.

Joe lives in the hillside village of Tejina de Guia with partner, Joy, their two children, Molly Blue and Sam. The goats are no relation, despite rumours to the contrary.

Joe is medically compelled to travel to alleviate sporadic bouts of island fever that leave him with a nasty rash and an uncontrollable urge to shout obscenities at the top of his voice.
